Purchased first boat a month ago after lots of renting last year. Had a maiden voyage at Silver where we defined success by no accidents plus clean load and launch. Then with the warming weather we decided to try for bass at badger with only a couple hours to fish after work and school. A trusted source (major enthusiast) told me that he fished Badger for the last two weeks for bass and only pulled in trout on bass baits, decided to try bass first anyway.

This was my first time on the lake, new boat, two kids 11 and 9, wife first time launch and power load, we decided to buck the odds and fish bass at the very north end of the lake. Fished a charteuse spinner bait and dropshot pumpkin w/ black speck Senko. We're not very efficient at fishing yet as a family. Absolutely no action patroling the north end 60 degree 4' to 18' of water. Clear water and saw no bass anywhere. Maybe they are sick of the weather jerking them around just like I am :-)

Anyway, strapped on two vibrax lures and trolled for 5 minutes at the top and 1.6 mph and wife was getting anxious about her first upcoming power load. Turned off the motor and told the kids to reel in. The kids decide to have a race to see who could reel in faster and my son hooked up a nice cut throat. We can now call it a "fishing" boat! Would try a faster troll speed next time around. Vibrax spinner with gold body plus black w/ yellow dot spinner (hot pepper).

Badger is beautiful. We'll be back. Can't wait till the bass heat up. I think the lake is hot for trout right now, but this review is for bass.

LOL, ya, we are all sick of the weather jerking us around. Great report! Glad that you and your family had a great day on your maiden voyage.
