Kicking off the 2011 season with this report on LaCamas Lake. While on the lake for Crappied I noted that some folks were catching trout. Crappie fishing difficult, but managed to come across this beauty.

Did not know there was Crappie in there, but it has been a good long while since I last fished it. Any size to the Crappie??

BMGW I've been fishing Lacamas about 1 yr now and learning a new species, Crappie. I hooked about 6 last year in the 11-12 inch range, but the majority of the population seems to *average* about 5 inches. That's based on several hundred caught last year all of which were catch/release. From what I've heard and read Crappie tend to be bigger on the east side of the Cascades. I took a look at some of the pics that Jigmiester posted from the Potholes... Real Slabs! I hope to get over there some day and hook a few.
