Fished Potholes on the 20th - 22nd. Fishing was GREAT! The bite was on, especially on day two. We started out on day one fishing in the dunes targeting pre-spawn fish, and struggled a little bit. I got two nice largemouth and two HUGE walleye. The one in the pic was 27.5" and was released un harmed because we weren't sure on the regs, but oh well. Probably a big spawning female anyway. Finished up in Lind Cullee where I picked up two nice smallies. My dad finished the day with two nice largemouth in the dunes, on that was about 5 or 6 lbs. Day two we woke up and it was cloudy, we were wondering what this would do to the bite, and I decided to target fish on beds, but vis was bad because the lighting was flat. We were targeting fish on points and flats. We got into the fish big time! I finished the day with 6 nice largemouth and my dad with 5 and that was just in half a day because we got blown off the water by the 25 MPH winds that were blowing with bigger gusts. I also lost 7 others, and my dad lost 5 others. The clouds were the key, the fish were way more aggressive in the low light. We were swimming green pumpkin jigs in 1 to 6 feet of water and the fish were really aggressive. Day three we woke up to crystal clear skies and we were not too happy about that. As we thought the bite was slower but the fish were still big and plentiful. I finished the day with 5 and my dad 3. We caught 27 fish in 3 days so nine fish a day isn't bad in my book that is why the high rating, The biggest was 8 or 9 lbs and it came on day three. We only caught two fish off of beds that we saw, and all fish were released very quickly after a picture. Water tems were 61 to 66 degrees and we did much better in water that was a little bit stained, not clear but not muddy.
