Almost 5 hours of fishing paradise! Took about half an hour to catch the first one, but from then on non-stop. Too bad the ratings only go to 5! 46 largemouth (no, not a typo), 6 smallmouth, no incidentals at all. I'll settle for roughly 10 an hour any day!
Dune area, closer to crab creek than usual, earth tone palstics off shallow areas leading to deep water, points were mostly better. Since I didn't have the camera, I won't say how big, but for me these were very big, mostly. One 19" bass appeared to be male. They ranged from 1" (on a crappie jig) on up. May be my last "big boat" trip for a while, given the near European price of gas, but what a blast! Landed the biggest as quickly as possible to not exhaust them, and no fish were lethally harmed in the making of this adventure.
I did lose one very powerful fish that might have been a catfish, but never saw it. Didn't fight like a carp anyway, so I'll stick to that storyline!
Some early skeeters out, and on a break, one of the dogs picked up a tick, which we brushed off (And killed! No C&R for them!), so watch out for the plaguebearers!
