Started around 1:00 p.m., or so. Flipping a green pumpkin tube under and around docks. Picked up a couple of smallies (pictured). Got to one dock and looked down and about 5' from the dock I see this brute swim by. Could not get it to take but I took note...

Kept fishing along and then on a dropshot, with a power bait minnow, I hooked into a decent smallie. It fought around there like they do and then it spit the hook. Bummer. I took note...

Moved along and changed up to a 6" green laminate Senko when I hit the weeds. Soon after I got a largemouth probably just under 2 lbs, if I had to guess. It then slowed down for a couple hours, then picked up another largemouth from under a dock. We'll call it a pound.

Here is where it got fun. I took my notes out and headed back to where I seen the pig. When I got there I picked up my dropshot rod with the power minnow. First flip out there, WHAM! I should have just pulled it in but the wind was taking me into the dock so I was working the motor and playing the fish. Had it on for 20 seconds or so, about 4 pounds, then I let it get away. Bummer.

Moved down to where I had lost the other smallie. Changed the dropshot to a 3.5" Panic Minnow because the fish I was wanting already bit the power minnow, if it makes a difference. Got back to that dock. 1st piling, nothing. Second piling, fish on, a smallie, same fish I had lost, I would assume (pictured). Worked toward shore to the next piling, fish on, a largemouth this time (pictured).

Took a couple of more flips out there then moved back to where the big'un was, but like one would think, it did not come back.

I had one little dink lmb which I will not count, so, other than him, I got 3 smb and 3 lmb. Nothing big but fun day.

Left around 6:30 as I had to go buy Lotto tickets (the only chance that I have to not go to work tomorrow).

Water temps. consistently at 59/60.

a tip I saw from one of the Potholes guys a couple years ago...when you have an aggressive fish lost after a fairly short time, have a back-up with a weightless senko and cast it immediately into the spot and let it slowly sink as if it had killed the bait. Great job as always! Was it too nastly to head down to Swofford the other day?
