I arrived at the lake around 0945 this morning to sunny skies with little wind and warm temps. The surfact temp of the lake was 56 when I arrived and 58-60 when I left.
As always, I began trolling my usual set up of an orange wedding ring tipped with half a crawler and a large split shot. Right away I got a bite, but he didn't stick. I began trolling where the fish were when I left yesterday, but with little luck. For the next hour and a half I got about half a dozen bites, but I couldn't get the hook set. I finally landed a little cutthroat, then nothing but the occassional bite for the next 2 hours. I searched the lake until I finally found that the fish were hanging out in the little bay at the far northeast corner. Between 1300 and 1400 I got numerous bites and landed 3 more cutthroat and 1 rainbow that thought he was way bigger than he was. They were a bit smaller than average, but still good eating.
The first pic was taken with my cell phone so I applogize if the quality isn't up to par.
