Busy day at American Lake today! I got to the WDFW launch at 5:30 and there were probably 15 trailers already there! Had both lines down at 6am trolling out from the launch to the marina across the way. 1 rod on my newly tuned Scotty downrigger loaded with 175lb braided line thanks to Tom Pollack at Sportco and the other with 1/2oz trolling weight. Just as I got across close the marina the line pops off the downrigger! fish on! it was pretty consistent throughout the morning with some short line releases and some I chose to C&R. both lines loaded with sling blades and smiley blades on a kokanee killer wedding ring tipped with Gulp pink maggots- the downrigger was set at 20 feet but moved deeper as the day grew on. did get quite a few on the long line also so it was pretty even~by noon I was tired of all the activity on the lake so headed in with 5 fat kokes headed for the smoker. Now I will try and load pictures but every time I do they don't show up so maybe someone can help me!
