Hit American about 6am. Motored north and flipped to docks. Caught the first smallie on a junebug colored tube. Threw a 3" shakey shad (Rainbow) colored on a 1/8 oz jighead as a search bait. Got a nasty birdsnest and picked it out as fast as I could. Picked up the bait from the bottom and felt the take, line ran and I set the hook into a beautiful 3 lbs 12oz smallie! She was quite the fighter! Caught another smally on the shakey shad and my buddy caught one on a watermelon tube. Nothing but bites the rest of the day (oh and a rock bass). I REALLY need to get better at setting the hook on the dropshot! Nice day in the sunshine though! Wind made it tough stayin on the bite on the north end of the lake, tried other areas with little but rock bass bitin. Tight lines all!
