We didn't get on the water till 11am and fished till 5pm. It took awhile to find the fish but when we did we realy found them. I've been in perch poor all year and I wanted to put some in the freezer. We used small ratfinky jigs tipped with 3 maggots, white or green worked. The fish were in 16' of water just off the weed beds, Not in the weeds but just outside of them and right on the bottom. We tried perch lip and eyes but maggots was by far the best. The fish were not large but all we kept were 7" - 9" with a few 10 inchers to keep us happy.

May sound stupid, but I always find those a real bummer when they steal my bait/waste time bringing to boat. How do you cook those? We always used nets for Hooligans(Candlefish) in SE Alaska and just brine/smoked/ate whole, but those dont have the scales and spined fins....

They can be a bother if your not fishing for them but I love'em. I dip them in egg and roll them in crushed salttine crackers but therer are 100's of ways to cook them and I've never seen a bad way
