Today we put on the flippers and sat in our inflatable toys for some pond fishing. Now i'm a total noob in the float tube world so the slightest breeze sent me spinning and flailing to keep an angle on something. So Quad handed me some live worms to make it easier today.

We saw way more turtles than fish on Roundlake, but happy chance smiled on me so that one bite was hook up and nice rainbow who took 3 or 4 leaps into the air, as in out of the water head shaking, call of the wild jumps. Once it calmed down a bit though, i got this shot of it on the line in the water before i even got him in the net. Gutsy/stupid huh?

but he was only lip hooked and i didn't have the means to keep a fish fresh anyways, so we got him revived and back in the water.

Not much action to speak of after that though but i enjoyed the catch.

Is there any sort of substantial shore access for fishing? Or is it float only?

Well, it is 12 months since you asked, Chuck Norris.... but it is completely accessible by shore. A float tube is great, but not necessary at all. Hence the name, "Round" lake. It's a mud puddle of a dumpy looking looking lake. No picturesque scenery, but it rocks on the fish.
