Out to the lake for Memorial Day weekend. A lot of time spent out in front of the house fishing with my 5yr old, cathcing perch and a few rainbows and some small bass, but when my brother and I made it out in the boat is when we caught some bigger fish.
He lost a nice sized rainbow at the boat- thing looked like it could have gone 1-2lbs. We each caught a nice pig over by the flooded willow trees. Mine was a 6+lb Largie (close to my PB), and his a 5-6lb Smallie. A few other smaller LM and SM were caught over the weekend.
Heard the Koke bite was slow, so we did not troll much. Think I caught 1 smaller Koke the whole weekend- nothing special.
As usual, seen the deer and mountain sheep and the eagles, and the weather was decent. Little rain here and there, nothing too bad. Some friends that came up to visit even got to see a bear not far from the NW end of the lake.
The 2 big bass made the trip worth. Will be back in July when the water is warmer.
