6/20/2011 11:12:00 AMI have the same camera- dust, water, freeze, shock proof. ME proof, essentially! I quite like mine, was about $130 (I got a refurbished unit, I always trust them just as much when they have gone over them with a fine tooth comb) Thanks for the report!

I've fished Lake Washington since the 60's, and have always wondered what those large fish right on the bottom near the bridge might be...my fish finder seems to show them at 150' or more as does yours. I really enjoy your reports! I got into some wonderful Coastal Cutthroats yesterday in the Forks area. They look like someone painted them they are so colorful. Releasing them is as much fun as catching them.

6/20/2011 9:57:00 PMArk, I don't believe the returns your are seeing at that depth are fish. Looking at the sonar pic I posted, there appears to be a thermocline at the 80' to 100' mark and another starting around the 170' mark as you had noted. Currents will also show up in this fashion, and one can imagine that there has to be some movement with the amont of water coming into the lake at this time of year.

6/27/2011 9:30:00 PMHey G-Man, you sure about those not being fish? I think a thermocline should be more consistent and thicker looking then that, and if you're moving those fish arches are going to be stretched out as they pass under the cone from front to back. I really think that you are over 2 large schools, one group suspended and just barely in the cone due to how blurred they look, and the lack of a yellow or red color. indicating a stronger return, and the other school of what I think are BIG fish hugging the bottom. I just think if you look at the return coming from the flashgraph part on the right you can see the distinct seperation between those returns which to me would indicate a fish school. I love analyzing sonar, so just giving my .02, which is what it's worth. :)
