Started fishing at 7am, was the first one on the water that morning. Ended up being about 5 boats/pontoons on the lake later on throughout the day. I left at 1pm.

Water clarity is 3-4 ft. Water is very dark from that point on. I missed a few fish and a few shook off my barbless hook as well. I did end up catching a 18" LMB that I think was about 4 lbs. Caught it on a white with silver sparkle senko. I saw tons of fish come full speed at my lure but then miss it on the fall, they must need some target practice I guess.

Saw most fish on the right side of the boat launch side of the lake on the edge of lilly pads.

I saw nothing but big fish. No bass under 3 lbs and no trout under 2 lbs.

There were also tons of surfacing trout, but I was after bass only that day.

I love the catch and release only rule, but I don't enjoy the single barbless hook.

I will be back to nab another one though.

The picture is my girlfriend with the fish.

Alittle food for thought. Usually when you see bass charging a bait, then boiling away from it, it means you had some aggressive bass on the prowl, but when they turn away it usually means that when they got a closer look, there was something about it they didn't like, usually the color. When I get refusals, I always change color. Watermellonseed can be gangbusters on the tanic waters of most Thurston County lakes.
