Larry and his Nephews Bill and Dylan went out with me for a day on Banks Lake.

We launched around 6am out of Coulee City and headed out to some shallow flats no deeper than 8 feet and began to fish with a dropshot rig. A Yamamoto Shad Shape worm, #4 Gamakatsu Hook, and a 1/4 oz. Quickdrops dropshot weight. We dragged the dropshots with the wind in 58-60F water.

All in all we caught about 12-15 smallmouth with the biggest going around 2 1/2 lbs. all from the south end. Most of our fish were skinny post spawners or spawning. Bill & Dylan had a great time learning how to fish for bass and even got about $30 in Rapala stuff to try on their home lake, Lake Sawyer.

Fishing up north on the lake was on fire though as I talked to a few buddies who caught LM and SM. With the wind we had, we decided to stay down south. The fishing definitely was not as hot as the tournament a few weeks ago, but then again it was almost right on a full moon. Next full moon we should see one more big wave of spawners.

Are you friends with a guy named Tommy, he told me that he makes you football head jigs and that you wrote an article about them.
( I sometimes see him at Coulon park.)
