Finally talked my buddy into going to long lake. And what a good choice it was. Saw my partner hit a nice bass within 5 minutes, unfortunately as he went to lip it---byebye-- tough luck kip--estimated weight 4 lb plus lmb on spinnerbait. motored down to just emerging weeds/pads threw on my beautiful but thus far unproductive top frog then "wham" its on b***h. Thank my braided spiderwire for a beautiful 4.5 lmb[hopefully i can figure out how to post pics here from my phone}. Then switched to crankbaits 6-8 feet in various colors for 6 more smb averaging 3 pounds plus each. My buddy was having even better luck with the smallies on a white buzz, with his big one of the day at 4.4 pounds on a rapala scale. It would be a 5 but for the fact that from 7 to about 915 when we left we only caught one more fish. But i guess i did catch it so maybe it was a 5. peace out and mojo

How far down did you go to fish? What were water temps at? Is the lake level back
up so the cover is in the water? Smallies in the weed lines or were you hitting rocky
Banks?

Thanks for the great report

The lake level is within 1 foot of full pool. You can find temps in the 60's. Main channel in the high 50's. There are a few giants toward the downstream dam ! Smallies will appear when you're fishing for largemouth. I've had the best luck throwing bright colored jigs where weeds meet bare bottom spots 6'-15' deep (smallies deeper than largies)
