First i wanna say hello to everyone on the site. i have learned alot about fishing in this area. your post and comments have been really helpful in weighing my options, but anyway on to the report. i am very happy to say that i got the chance to finnally get off the island and try some new (fresh) waters. remembered hearing about beaver lake from a guy i met at cranberry ( deception pass park) last year. finally got the chance to get out there a couple of weeks ago. went in search of bass. my buddy got a few 12"-14s" but that was pretty much it for bass. as the day went on i decided to see what else was in the lake so decided to throw a small white crank bait and troll anound for a while. ended up getting about 6 crappies in a 50yd stretch. wish i had found them earlier but now i knew they were there so it was game on. called it a day due to previous engagements. got back to the lake on friday around 9am (after a couple stops at walmart to pick up panfish gear) with crappies on the menu. day was super bright and fish seemed to not like that at all cause bites came few and far between. a few clouds rolled in round 1230 and the bite took off. caught about 45 crappies in the next hour! all fish came on a 2" berkley gulp minnow with a 1/16th jig head( black and white). avg was about 7"-9" a few were around 11". all in all a good day in my book.

i had the boat parked at the 6'-7'' range, just outside most of the lilly pads. most fish were taken casting parallel to the shore and keeping it bouncing back just fast enough to tick the top of the weeds. if i was grabbing weeds, too slow. hope that helps

Just out of curiosity, were you moving around or mostly in one spot? Maybe you hit a big school and the clouds turned them on to feeding. Wow, nice haul!

they were all taken on about a 60yd stretch. id turn the trolling motor on one and jus bounce the jig 10yds behind the boat until i got a fish, circle around and anchor up. then id fish til the hits started coming more than 5 cast between each other then start over. sorry bout the late response, the navy keeps me pretty busy lol. tight lines!
