Still think they need "other" on lake selection, and dividing "fun" from "fish caught" on the rating scale would be helpful. Anyway...
I'm doing this report mostly for those who drool as they pass this lake on the freeway.
Went to Aspen (I have an office there) early. The "shore patrol" was out, folks who actually follow you around and monitor you as you fish. It is a private lake, but I have had land before that people wanted to hunt on, and didn't have to be bothersome to enforce the rules. As with anything, some are nice and others not so.
That being said, I tried topwater and caught several bass, including one 23" mama (spawned out), and even briefly had a catfish on. I used a Zara Spook (don't freak out, I modified it to barbless single hook!) and as required turned all fish loose. Had to use flippers since no motors and only one oar (?) are allowed. It would have been enjoyable save for those 2 individuals, and I'm not condemning all who are at the Lake. I understand how many have probably trespassed and fished illegally. So "5" on the fishing and "1" on the experience. Jiggy, thanks for the warning, or I'd have had the wrong tackle and an electric motor to lug around.
