Fished Rock Lake from around 12 to 3:30. Overall fishing was slow, but there were a couple of interesting things. Water is getting pretty clear, surface temp was around 72, water level has come down at least a foot. It was carp central by the shore everywhere I went in the south half of the lake. Many were good sized in the 10 pound range and it was easy to spot them and they weren't spooking. Secondly I caught my second bass ever at this lake on a perch colored husky jerk around some underwater boulders. At first I thought is was a nice brown, but instead it was 1.5-2 pound largemouth.
This week and last week, throwing crankbaits in shallow water only produced some tiny 7-8 inch rainbows and browns. Last week I caught some decent rainbows trolling a small crankbait, but today only picked up a couple of really small rainbows.
I was surprised to see that there were about 7-8 trailers in the parking lot.
