This time, I took the 13 year old grandson with me, again the first ever fishing trip for the two of us. We were on the water from 07:30 to 11:00. Weather was quite windy, never took off our sweatshirts. Fishing was slower than two weeks ago, we quit with 7 cutts in the ice chest up to 13 inches. Surface water temp was 68 to 70. Fish seemed to be clustered from surface to 15 feet, then from 25 down to 40 feet, larger ones were deeper. We trolled a #2 Needlefish in firetiger, and an old red-white-nickel fly rod size spoon called a Gypsy King that hasn't been made for a long time. Small spring planters are big enough to get hooked, but not worth cooking yet. These seemed to be in the 15 to 20 foot depth. Water never got dangerous, but by 11 the wind was blowing hard enough that it wasn't fun anymore.
