Finally made it up to Lost lake for the first time this year.Got a late start.I recently got rid of my jon boat and bought a deep v 12 footer on a trailer and figured this lake would be a good place to try it out. When I finally got to the lake around noon I had to slip on my waders and go move all the logs out of the launch area.Outboard wouldnt start.Kinda funny because it ran fine in my test tank,so I flipped out the electric and headed out.Marked quite a few fish but they were mostly down way deep.Guys on the bank were doing ok but with a restriction of 1 fish over 14 inches on this lake. Its kinda worthless to use bait because you cant release them without killing a bunch, and I saw people doing just that.Whoever makes the regs in this state sure comes up with some doozies. With a 1 fish over 14 " restriction you would think not allowing bait should be added as well or just not have the rule and let people get their 5 fish and leave without killing another 10 more.Anyway the fishing was a bit slow.I caught 7-8 triploided rainbows and a couple of brook trout the biggest brookie being about 15 inches which was the only fish I kept. All caught on Firetiger Dr Minnow behind 2-4 colors of leadcore.I usually really have excellent action here like this but not so much today.
