hit the lake with a friend and our 2 kids. got there around 6pm and decided to throw bobbers and worms into the pads to keep the kids busy with perch until the crappie bite started. they caught a dozen or so and then we started to troll...and troll.....and troll. not a bite, no fish rising, nothing. the conditions were seemingly perfect so either we were too late in the season or it hasn't gotten hot yet. i don't know which?

Typical Crappie with lock jaw, try jigging for them and put a "Nitro Trailer" on the hook, the pheromones usually produce results and it's almost always the larger fish that will strike during lock jaw...

small bobber, with a jig under it. Just twitch it and let it sit.. tip it with a worm or a maggot, game on

Wish it was that easy kacker. I'm an experienced crappie fisherman and have caught many at Cassidy. In fact I've caught more fish without a bobber on that lake; just vertical jigging. It just wasn't "on" that evening and we ran out of time to try different methods as well. Oh well, we'll try again. It's called fishing and not "catching" for a reason :)
