I just found this site and thought I would submit a report. I have fished this lake every year around Memorial Day for the past five years with varying amounts of success. Every year I seem to catch more. I dont know if it is because there are more fish or that I am just learning to fish the lake better. The first year I went we caught only a few kokanee about 9 inches each. The kokanee also seem to get bigger every year. Last year the ones we caught were about 10-12 inches. This year they were all mostly 12-14 inches. My experience with this lake has been hit and miss. I have caught 10 fish in 15 minutes before and I have also fished for hours in the same spot and only caught a hand full if that. My best luck has been fishing about 10-15 feet below the boat with an egg and maggot. Good spots are off of creek mouths, points, and drop-offs. I have found they can even be caught fishing off the shore with small orange or pink spinners near creek mouths. Some people swear by
chumming, but I haven't seen that it makes a lot of difference. They move around in huge schools, and if you can find a school, you can catch fish. If the screen goes black on your fish finder about 15 feet down, that's a school of kokanee. I haven't found trolling to be as effective for me for kokanee but I can usually pick up a few rainbows. When trolling I like to use small spoons and spinners. I like to fight the fish, not the gang troll. I have found that if you chum and fish near the bottom, you catch suckerfish, whitefish, and even some nice dolly varden. The lake seems to fish best when it is about 10 feet low. I have found the mouth of Noisy Creek, and the rocky point at the bend in the lake to be good spots to fish (and catch). Good luck.
