Decided to check out Beaver Lake for the first time, after reading some of the bass reports. I got on the water a little after 7am and fished until 2pm. Water temp was super warm, and the weather was overcast until about 12:30 when the rain started to drizzle and dump periodically. I launched my inflatable boat from the public park and worked my way around the shoreline pitching senkos and lizzards toward the lillys and brush. I had quite a few bites east of the boat launch but nothing landed. The fish we hitting about 3-4 ft from the shore in most areas. After a bathroom break I decided to work the opposite side of the lake (northside) and that's where the action was. I brought in a could 12 inchers, and had a ton of bites. I reached the very end of the lake and casted a few times before leaving for the day. I tossed a purple senko between a huge rock and some lilly pads and I was sure I got snagged. Then all of a sudden my rod bent in half and I knew it was on. The beast got tangled in the pads and couldn't run with my line so that minimized the fight, and after work I was able to pull this guy in the boat. I didn't have a scale with me but I'm guessing it was easily 3 lbs. A clean C&R so he can fight another day. Not a day filled with quantity, but definitely quality. Tight lines!
