7/23/2011 3:13:00 PMThe leader should be about 2 1/2 times the length of the dodger. Wrap some line around the dodger 2 and a half times then cut it. hold it on the water while trolling, the lure should have a nice back and forth action behind it. If the leader is too long the lure wont have much action from the dodger. My favorite lures are Koke-A-Nut lures, they sell them at most places, even at Fred Meyers. I will usually put a small piece of worm or corn on the top hook of these. And if youre used to trout fishing, dont set the hook like you normally would. Kokanee have soft lips and the hook can easily be ripped right out of their lip. I have caught plenty of fish without even setting the hook, just let them take it, then give it a soft jerk and dont stop reeling, and have somebody ready to net it.
