Went out to Williams for the first time this past weekend. Beautiful little lake in a beautiful part of Eastern Washington. Its hard to believe that theres an area like that within a half hour or so of downtown Spokane. My buddy Nigel and I headed over to Tree 11 and saw about a half dozen or so other boats in the area. Looked like to spot to be so we dropped anchor and threw a few lines out off the bottom. Nothing. Everybody else around us seemed to be landing fish after fish. We were persistent. And it paid off. After a couple hours of just sitting and getting a nice tan drinking a few cold ones, we had a nice 13" bow. Then another, and another. In the span of about 90 minutes we had caught more than a half dozen keepers. I thought of that voice in Field of Dreams that told Kevin Costner "if you build it, he will come". This time around it was "if you bait it, fish will come". Great times. We will be back.
