Hello everyone.
been a while since i posted a report.
i have been to lacamas about 10 times in the last month in my boat and from shore. trout fishing is pretty slow.
Yesterday (july 18th) i got to lacamas at 4am and trolled for trout until about 7 with no luck. from 7-10 i was top fishing and bottom fishing around the whole lake using worms, powerbait and both. while doing this i caught around a dozen perch. at about 11 i started trolling again. i was trolling flashers with a wedding ring with a worm. at 12 i had a big big hit and as i got it to the boat it was a nice 15inch brown. i was so suprised and impressed by the fish that by the time i got the net it spit the hook. i continued to troll until about 430.
i then decided to start bass fishing even though its been really slow for me lately. i start by the lilly pads then ended up on the south shore. at 620 i hooked into what i though was a log as it was coming up slowly then i see it start to swim near the surface. it was a hugh hugh huge LMB, i fight it for a minute or two and notice that the rapala i was using only had one hook through the upper lip. it woulnd come near the boat so i had to try and net it with my little net and ended up doing so.
it weighed 7lbs 2oz on my scale and was 23in long and 17in gerth. here is a pic of me holding it and of it laying across my cooler that has measurements only up to 20 inches.
it was a perfect day after i caught the fish and decided to leave.
i also have a pic of it on the scale i can send to anyone in disbeleif.
Todd
