Two brothers and I fished Loon last night for Kokes. We fished Glow hooks two turns off bottom at about 30' in our secret spot. The bight wasn't as consistent last night as it was last week, but the size of the fish was refreshing. Most fish caught were in the 14-15in range. Last week, we boated 30 fish with only 7 keeper sized fish. Last night we boated about 20 fish with 11 nicer Kokes kept. On a personal note, this angler boated 4 with 2 keepers. I'm off the snide. Kokanee, here we come.

Glow hook with shoe peg corn and an active jig. Tension on line and a medium real in, instead of jerking to set the hook helped me overcome my inefficiency in catching this elusive fish.

Did You Know? It's illeagal to realease fish that are caught with bait. All silvers are keepers regardless of size. You may however have the rainbow limit plus the koke limit.

I don't mean to be a killjoy, but by law we aren't allowed to release, and keep catching beyond our legal limit if we're using bait.
If I catch one and it is released, that counts as one fish for me.

Not sure in the regs where it says you have to keep all fish caught with bait, but it does say trout caught with bait whether kept or released are counted towards the limit. If you fished before and after 12am then your limit would be 20 kokes for each of you. Guys please correct me if I am wrong. Thanks!

O.K. Here's my attempt at math. 1 fisheman= 10 Koke limit. 3 fisherman= 30 Koke limit. That's for one evening. If it turns 12:01 a.m., and I still happen to be on the lake fishing, then...

My sentiments exactly. The daily limit of Kokes on Loon is 10. The daily limit of trout is 5. Maybe there are other lakes that only allow 5 Kokes (Westside freshwater lakes,) but here on the East side (Loon Lake), the daily limit is 10. When your jigging, not trolling, you do this in the dark, and often times span a 2 day period. That's when you can have a real BONK fest.
