Went to Curlew Lake targeting the bass this time in my canoe. I was able to get into some shallow coves and throw some spinnerbaits. Hooked up just about every cast, however nothing with any size to it. Lots of fun with plenty of acrobatics. Some of these little suckers werent even as big as the spinnerbait I was throwing. Bass ranged from 4" - 12", all released. Targeted the tiger muskie for about an hour after that trolling a husky jerk with no luck. Good time!

Sounds like a typical Curlew Lake bassin experience. It sure is fun to constantly catch fish, even if none are of any decent size.

Good to hear the bass are active. I'm headed up this weekend to spend a few days. Thanks for the report.

I was there during the week of July 4th, stayed at Tiffanys. I started catching small bass at first anywhere from 8-12" until I started throwing a jig with a zoom trailer in the daytime around the wood and docks. Then during the early evening I would throw a reaction skinny dipper and my average fish for the week was around 13-16" with my largest at 18" on the skinny dipper.

There are bigger fish in there you just have to seek them out and provide a big bass bait.
I won't mention where I caught and released well over 100 bass up to 18" for four days, its easy to figure out the pattern and the best places to fish on that lake.
