It's been a while since I was able to post a report because I have been battling a nasty flesh eating disease MRSA infection in my foot for nearly 2 months. I would like to extend a heartfelt thankyou to walakes members Joe aka Fishinchristian, Andy aka AFK and Rob aka Malotguy for thier encouragment and support during my recovery.i was fortunate enough to celebrate my 43rd birthday because that infection nearly led to my demise. I made the most of it and hooked up with my best friend Adam Barnett and hit a favorite bass pond for nearly non stop fish catching action. We were greeted by the sight of an awesome 5 point Muley buck drinking water at the boat launch. After launching my jon boat, I knew it was gonna be a great day because I caugth a 3 pound bass on my first cast! We drifted around most of the morning catching decent sized largemouth to 2 pounds when I decided to switch to a watermelon/red 6" Zoom curlytail worm on a 1/32 oz. shakyhead. The bigger bass were feeding on minnows in open water and bass after bass fell to that worm. Adam even took my crawfish scent away from me in a vain attempt to catch up to me! Lol Final tally was 17 largies caught and released for me and 5 bass for Adam. Ad quipped that I caught most of the fish just because it was my birthday...what a way to get back into the groove after being off the water for nearly two months! INClUDED with this post is a picture of a 10 pound Yakima River chinook I caught on roe up in the canyon by Selah the last time I was able to go fishing. Thanks again guys. Jiggy
