Yesterday was a great day as we hit the water at 0545 hrs because everyone insisted that this was an early bite only fishery. Even though I didn't think it mattered too much I decided to get on the road by 0300hrs. I learned this is an early bite fishery! 3 guys in boat fishing 3 rods. 2 fish in boat before the 3rd rod was clipped in the downrigger. Five fish in the boat by 0700hrs. It's been a while I've had everyone limit out and now I was thinking it was possible. 7 fish in boat by 0900 with about 5 lost and several bumps. Then as everyone said it was dead.. We were determined to come home with nine in the boat. None of us had the 2 pole so we were down 1 rod. At 1230 hrs we were going to pick it up at 1300hrs. Then of course we picked one up at 1259 hrs. Last fish came at 1330 hrs. DIdn't make cascade burgers because we didn't want to hit traffic through Everett.

It is true these fish act very differently than Lk Washington. These fish are a bit bigger and great fighters. Many of these fish are great jumpers. I was surpised it was so much fun. Definatley a great and easier alternative that making a Columbia River Trip. At the end of the day you get about the same amount of meat and less of a gas bill.

Gear and depth: 0 dodger, mini pink squid, crayfish scent, tipped with pink prawn tail. The 2 hook setup is better than just 1 hook (many were lost). Smile Blade or no smile blade. 14" from dodger. And the slowest you can troll. Sorry no one took any picture of fish but they look like all the others except when you put them in the cooler all day silver goes away and they turn white. Meat is still firm, pink, and delicious.
