Got out to the lake around 1pm and took the boat to the North end as usual. Started with spinners and Senkos, and caught a few smaller black bass. Couple of bigger bites as well, but not hooked. Fished down the West side, around the docks and lily pads.
Went back up to the North end, but this time worked the East side docks and lily pads. Same results, with a couple smaller LM bass mixed in.
Last run back up to the North end of the lake, and the last run down the East side once more, but this time using a night crawler, rigged weightless- Texas style-ish. Caught the biggest fish of the day- a LM bass that may have been 1 1/2lbs+. Was fun to fight on my new FeatherLight EagleClaw rod, using 8lb test, with a 4lb leader. Bugger tried to get back in to the pads, but I was able to keep him out and land it.
Also tried a popper and crankbait with no luck on the 3 runs. Probably because of mid-day fishing.
C&R as always.
Tight lines!!
