8/5/2011 6:14:00 PMgot 7 fish today at baker but ALL before 630, then Nothing between 630 and 10. If its clear and sunny, you gotta be fishing before it gets light, the bite is so short that maybe you just got unlucky and wernt in the right place during the hour long bite. All my fish on straight sand shrimp tail 20 inches behind 0 bright orange dodger 20-30 feet down.

8/5/2011 6:28:00 PMSorry to hear that. The fishing calendar only rates today a one star day with the best bite time being around 3 to 6 am, perhaps someone showed it to the fish! Tomorrow isn't supposed to be all that great either, will see how the PSA derby goes. I hear you about the bait though, I'm getting ready to run to Uwajimaya to pick up some fresh stuff for the derby tomorrow!

8/5/2011 7:55:00 PMBummer dude.....but it does make me feel better, since I had an almost identical experience on Wednesday. I did come home with 1 fish, but they were being caught all around us, and we couldn't come up with the right combo.

8/5/2011 8:06:00 PMAlmost the same thing happened to me last week. I fished Baker on Friday for 7 hours and caught 2 keepers. Very slow! The next day folks submitted reports of limits for all. I think sometimes the bite is just off. Glad the trip went well anyway and the burger was tasty..

8/5/2011 10:04:00 PMHad a very successful day Wednesday but yesterday was just as you described my outing. I had one strike at 0515 and that was it all the way to 1000. The view of the mountain was terrific, but you can't barbecue that.

8/7/2011 2:45:00 PMFished Baker Thurs and Fri, we BBQed the bait! LOL caught 4, 2 each day, pretty slow compared to those early reports. The depth finder showed nearly like a desert. We did tow a dead boat back to the Swift ramp. Headed to Westport next trip, I heard they opened it to two kings now.
