Enjoyed another wonderful vacation at Curlew. Loved our cabin as it overlooked a newly finished dock which made fishing and mooring our boat a real joy. We fished on and off from early morning trolling various flies tipped with a little power bait to evening still fishing. Trolling flies, while very successful in the past this year it was 'so-so'. Didn't get skunked as was able to land one beauty (about 16" fat) in front of the state park at 26'. Most of the time we fished Roberta where we were able to hook up with several big ones' with several going 2.5 lbs and 17-18" range. Really great fighters. It was beautiful weather and warm...just wish I could figure out when the 'bite was on'...most of the success continues with the night (11 p.m on) fisherman but who wants to do that and be eaten by the bugs...There is a lot of 'feed' in the lake so I assume the trout are very spoiled in that they are fussy about the time and when to feed. when is the best time? If I knew the answer I would be a lot richer. All in all its a wonderful place.
Tight lines to all
