After an outing on Saturday only getting a couple rainbows I decided to turn my sites to perch since that's my favorite eating fish. I had seen a likely looking spot the last time I was out so I rigged up a simple hook/worm set up under a bobber and headed out after work. I set up in 4-5' of water. The water temp was sitting at 69-70F.
As soon as I casted out I was getting bit. Many small perch in the 5" range, but I was able to pull in 10 perch between 7-8" in the couple hours I was able to fish. I also landed one 12" bow.
The water level continues to drop and is about 100 yards from the parking lot. Still lots of fish rising and I've even seen a couple nice bass surface along the edge of the lake. If you plan to head out to this lake bring a buddy if you can and expect to get muddy, since the the lake bottom near the water line hasn't dried out yet and the water is extremely shallow, so pulling your boat out will probably be necessary.
