This is a report continued from Clear Lake. Worked my down the west side from the launch and had two decent size blowups on a Rapala but either I set the hook to quick or they missed it. I stuck with the Rapala in a rainbow trout pattern and caught a couple small ones and then I was casting parallel to what I believe was an island of reeds when this sucker just smashed my lure. There is nothing like getting pulled around by a monster bass in a pontoon boat. Got it in the net and snapped a couple of pics before releasing it. I didn't have a scale or a tape but felt like it was a good 4lbs maybe pushing 5.
I decided to end the bass fishing on that note and target some crappie and perch for dinner. Threw a small beetle spinner in yellow and black and caught several crappie, a few perch and a couple more dink LMB. Hung out till around noon and headed on home. All in all a really fun day!
