Another gorgeous day on the lake. Fishing for LMB and trout has been "slow" all year, but we still had a great time.
K. and I fished from 11:15am - 6:45pm. The weather was perfect in my book as it wasn't overly sunny, breezy, but not a hurricane. The anemometer kept showing winds about 7-10pmph, air temps averaging 74 degrees and water temps 69.4-71.9. Interesting as the lake overall is not warming week to week.
It's always entertaining to us as this lake usually doesn't have a "hot" lure that repeats week to week. The Frenzy that boated the most fish two weeks in a row, only caught one yesterday.
The hot lure this weekend was a High Roller. K. usually does well with it, so I put one on and had a ball with this top water lure.
We didn't pack a lunch today so pulled to shore and enjoyed the Park's concession booth for a late snack. By the end of the day our catch and release count was 63 fish. 40 belonged to K. with all LMB but 2 pumpkinseeds and I had 23 with only 1 pumpkinseed. Kokanee are marking on the graf at 26 feet.
Don't forget your Discover Park pass. We have one and forgot to hang it from the windshield this week and got a citation. We stopped at the ranger station after fishing and showed we had one and were forgiven but were told soon they will starting fining at $90.00 each time.
