OK, I'm not trying to decieve anybody here. I was just trying to follow the website directions. When it said Targeted Species, I had to put in Tiger Muskie because that's what we went looking for. However, this time, I was unable to resist the urge to diddle for some crappies while I was there. I had finally talked the DrumDog in to leaving his golf clubs at home and dusting off his fishing rods. We fished Muskies till we got to one of my favorite crappie areas, then we busted out the light duty gear. UMMM I love the smell of a 2 1/2" berkley gulp alive minnow in the evening. As usual there they were. The Drumdog started us off with a nice 13 1/2"er, and it was game on. We stuck about a dozen or so in that spot, then decided we needed to go back after the Tigers. We moved on to another spot and casted till we felt our efforts were being wasted. We passed Craig "Yankin Jaw" Dowdy on the way in to the lake so we figured the tigers all had a sore mouth or something. So, out came the ultralights again. Looks like the drumdogs supurb golf game hasn't ruined his touch for the "One Finger Crappie Roll" (That's what he calls his technique) because we got right back in to them. We didn't end up with any big ones but a few 13 1/2"ers make for a nice load of fillets. We kept a few and released a bunch. The crappies there are on fire right now. Then again, when aren't they. 11 feet of water and weeds was the ticket. One interesting note, we got one crappie that went about 12" that had an odd crescent shaped mark in it's side. Strangely enough it looked like the bite radius of a large preditory fish. I wonder what could have made that mark? It took up most of one side of his body. Happy Fishing

We only caught 3 Tigers, and hurt the mouth of one that got away LOL. I thought that was you saw you that I passed LOL... Fishings been getting slower at Newman and the waters getting cloudier. I think it might be time to start hitting Silver. Those Crappie look yummy...Good luck fishing

Nice one Mark! Here I was all excited to bring up the page and see a photo of you holding 25 pounds of mean-@ss finger ripping terror! Instead, I see crappies! Oh well. Some day you will catch some another. Won't be around for a while. Maybe in October we can hit Silver and rip a few lips out there.... Congrats on some nice crappies though! Did those come on any HJ's? :)
