Went fishing at Fish Lake to get a limit of trout for camping eats...my Dad and I rented a boat from the Cove and took off about 6:30. We wanted to get started a little earlier, but had to wait for the Cove office to open (they advertise open at 5:30, but the operator was a no show until 6:15). We began trolling along the south shore with powerbait and a tiny slip sinker. We got constant hits to start, then it died down a bit. Finally after about 2 hours we both had our limits. On the way back to the Cove we noticed a couple guys bass fishing...they were throwing buzzbaits and spinnerbaits, so we followed them (about 15 minutes behind) using plastics. On my 5th cast using a green pumpkin plastic worm I connected with a nice 4 pound largemouth. After a great battle through the reeds I lipped it and held it high for all the Cove dock fisherpeople to see. We bassed a bit more without a hit, then parked the rental boat...3 hours total. Great trout eats and an incredible bonus fish to end the day. Thanks Dad!

Awesome LM! What were sizes of trout you were getting? I was thinking about taking boat over there, but not happy about gas-expense.

The trout we caught were all between 9 and 12 inches long...I forgot to take a picture of them before cleaning them at the Cove. The bite really died down around 8:00 or so (for us). I hear you about the gas...my folks live in that area, so I fish it when I go visit. Take care
