First one on the lake this day, (and as I remember) had it mostly to myself all morning long. Unbelievable on a Saturday at Cassidy. I fished for about 3 hours and C&R'd more than a dozen largemouth bass. Most were the size of the smaller one pictured, but I did have my day made by one nice 4 pound bass. Plastics as usual...tried a variety of colors - a black worm got the big one.

Nice fish. How did you catch 12 fish, plus a four pounder, and only rate your day a 3 out of 5? :)

Probably should have been a "4" but I have high expectations, and have had some better days out there in past years. Thanks

from your recent posts it seems you have been having a lot of sucess with a worm. what kind of worm do you use and how do you fish it, how do you rig it? I'm not too expierienced fishing worms or soft plastics for that matter, any advice would help. thanks

Bill, I pour my own SUPER soft worms and soak them in anise oil...lucky to get 3 or 4 fish on one until it's torn up bad. Luckily I can re-melt the old worms to make new ones. I use 4", 6", and 9" worms, and many different color variations. These are fun to experiment with to see what works best at each lake. I use a split shot rig, Texas rig, Carolina rig, and a wacky rig....weightless is my favorite way to fish them, but I use a little weight when needed. I make/use mostly straight worms, not curly tails. Hope that helps.
