Just moved to Bremerton from across the water, first time fishing in the area. Don't have my kayak yet so I tried Buck lake as I read you could fish from shore in a couple spots.

Fished from the park for a few minutes and got hit a few times by fish barely bigger than my bait. I followed a trail around the lake, where it was a little quieter. Ended up landing two largemouths, both about 12" long. First on a wacky rigged, watermelon senko and the second on a texas rigged flesh colored gulp worm. Not too bad for an hour of fishing this afternoon. I bet with a boat and a little more time you could do well for yourself for such a small lake. Not a bad area either because you can hop right over to the beach for salmon fishing!
