Hit Long on Thursday afternoon. Launched out of nine mile and headed down to the docks across from Tum Tum. Caught a dozen dinks skipping a tube up under the docks. Color didn't really seem to matter. Water visiblity is 12'-14' , basiclally cristal clear. As the afternoon turned to evening I headed back up river to hit the docks just upriver from the Suncrest launch. Caught a couple more dinks on both the tube and a shallow running crankbait. About 1830 I started tossing a small rapala topwater, similar to a small zara spook. The smallies started crushing it. The largest ones I boated ran about 2 1/2lbs but I had fish upto 3 1/2 hit, I just didn't hook them. Nothing is more fun than seeing a smallie attacking a topwater, they must be related to great whites because I saw plenty of airborne smallies doing their best impression of air jaws. I have been hitting Long for the last three weeks and the action is not letting up. I had previously been using a pop-r type bait and had just as much action. I believe they sprayed the milfoil because it disappearing fast. Sorry no pics.
Water temp: 74-76 deg
