Okay I'm giving this report because I've got a lot to say about the three times I've fished there in the last month and a half. Great lake. Lots of fun and from what I've seen and lures I've used I've seen more and larger fish here then some of the surrounding lakes to the north.

First time out did some anchoring at the north end. A couple very good productive bays up there that have some vegetation. When the water isn't too low it's easy to cast in between the groups of weeds and get some good fish. We anchored up there and I fished with a rapala sinking minnow. It was an older one with a black back and gold belly. I caught 2 bass, a crappie, and a blue gill. Only one of the bass was from that cove, the 2nd bass was just to the west of that cove along the shore. I believe I caught a 5th fish that day but it was a while ago so I'll let one slide.

The second time we went out my Dad had all the luck. He was using a 5" worm texas rigged. It was a purple worm with a neon yellow tail, one that would kick in the water, but the tail was only an inch long if that. Nothing like those 7" worms where half of them is a swimming tail. Just a little curl. He had some good luck on that catching the fattest one we'd seen out of that lake, a good 1.5lbs. He caught another about 1 lb and was putting me to shame. I don't remember what I caught that day but I do remember the wind picked up and we headed back south to the public boat launch and called it.

The third time out there was the best. We decided to keep the fish this go around. We started off fishing south around the little bay there by the public launch and camp grounds, the rocky area was great. Caught a few fish there, maybe 2 keepers and 2 released. We worked up the west bank all the way north and then went east to the little cut outs to the north. Then down that east bank south. Along that steep bank we caught a few fish and that's where I had a blue gill take my spinner bait. He's the one in the picture, was a very thick one and his mouth just barely got over the hook, I was shocked, he had to of grabbed it just right because it wasn't a small hook. Along that bank the fishing was good so I used some crank baits. A blue and orange speckled rapala I'd just bought the day before caught me two fish, don't remember if either were keepers. But that bank seems to be pretty steep and if you're not in the weeds crank baits work well there.

So to wrap this up, our best lures were a rapala minnow, both the sinking and the floating worked, but produced differently on the same day! Both had a black top and gold bottom, but the sinking older one had a little red blotch under the chin. A crank bait worked well at the north east end where the bank is pretty steep. And for plastics the 5" worm with a very short tail in purple with neon green swimming tail worked best for us.

I'm looking forward to going back there.
