Went out on the boat tonight with kwcc and my dad. On my second cast I felt my line went slack and set the hook. Felt like a good fish but I didn't realize it would be over 4pounds! After awhile we didn't catch anything more so we moved and then kwcc pulled in a bass that normally would of been 1pound but was sooo fat it was 1 1/2-2pounds. After that we saw a couple trout that were a little bit bigger than 12 inches follow our crankbaits in but no more bites. Yet again we moved and this time I casted my crankbait way past a deep drop off. I set the hook on a fish that I thought was a huge trout because he hit the crankbait in atleast 40 ft of water and landed another big SM over 4 pounds! We moved again we moved and kwcc caught a SM about 2 1/2pounds. My dad finished the day catching a 3 pounder on a rattletrap. All over the course of the day we caught dinks and all fish were fat and coughing up some sort of silver minnow. I am sure kwcc will post a report with the pics of the fish he catches.

Nice pull. Better than what I've been seeing anybody else catch out of the local lakes lately. What kind of crank baits are you using?

Sorry, I usually don't post pics of my dad's fish. And as far as the crankbait....we use deep diving (17-20ft) koopers livetarget crawfish crankbaits. Fish them around any structure in water deeper than 15 feet. When you bounce them off the rocks, it usually generates agressive strikes from big smallies.
