We fished at verious locations and caught perch from 12 to 30 feet deep. Every place we stopped, we caught perch, but they were all on the small side exept for a couple. We were about to call it a day when something big grabbed my little jig with a piece of perch fillet on it. Since I was using an ultra ultra light rod with 6 lb test line all I could do was point the rod at the fish and hold on. The fish went where ever it wanted and took out considerable line. after some time I was able to gain some of the line back. I had my fishing partner get my big net, which I put in just in case, out of the front of the boat. After a few more runs the fish tiired and I was just able to bring the fish to the net with my "noodle " rod. It turned out to be a 7.5 lb Rainbow Trout. There were two perch in the stomach of this very fat fish. What a a way to finish a day with a real trophy.
