Took a friend out on a guide trip. He had a bass club event upcoming. He didn't know the lake well and asked if I would guide for him. First spot we used top water poppers. Has been a good spot and was again. Once the light hit the water we saw huge schools of SM. Switched to MAD BASS Turbo tubes in Natural Craw, Grn Pmkin Red and Smoke Red. We saw as many as 50 cruisers and on each retrieve w/or w/out a fish had 5-7 followers. We fished many spots and had similar success. It had to be the best day I have had on Lake Chelan in years. The sizes ranged from 2# to 5# plus..My concern is we have a front coming through this weekend and temps will fall up to 20 degrees. Coming off of a full moon and the front could change things rapidly. I hope my friend can still find those same fish. If so, he has a win for himself. Lake Chelan will be getting better as we approach cooler weather and water temps fall. When these SM get on the fall bite, look out..We didn't take any pictures because we were on the run finding locatons.

It's good to see that there are more than just Macks in Lake Chelan. Nice going. Photos of those 5lb + smallies would heve been nice. Happy Fishing

We were over there a few weeks ago and threw topwaters or jerkbaits. There was a lot of followers, so we started throwing a DropSHot PM's in the 201B Smelt color and the fish that followed without commiting would follow the bait down to the bottom and eat it. It was unreal. Very nice fish.

This time of year a rain should turn the fish on. Give it a try if you don't mind getting soaked. I'm thinking of getting wet.

Thanks for the tip Mr Minnow. I guess I will be going through my selection and if I don't have that color I know where I'm going ;-)
Mad Bass, are all your areas to the left of the Casino boat launch, or should I be looking up lake as well ? Got a club event coming up. Good report !

Actually, I was never out of sight of the launch most of the day. Try the other side of the lake from the launch. Also, Abbotts point.
It hasn't produced much over the past couple of years but if you get one it will be big. Go into Manson bay to the left along the first series of homes. Plenty of underwater rocks around the docks and sea walls for the firs 100 yrds or so. I would suggest checking out the state park from the point just right of the boat launch to the cove. Lots of under water structure but stay out, gets shallow. My other spots are all mine.. Sorry!!! Oh, as you may have figured, after sun is up, LONG CAST!!!

Thanks for the reply MadBass. I didn't want TOO much info, so I gladly appreciate it ! I have fished the lake 2-3 times in 5 years, so hoping to figure something out. Looking forward to it.

No sorrys, I meant that in a good way. I want to do well, but don't want to do it with others GPS coordinates haha. Hope to figure something out this weekend, can't wait. Take Care.
