Got on the water about 8AM.
Fished the Northwest corner of Loon for a couple of hours with a Manns crankbait, shallow runner, Orange back and gold belly. Caught one nice 12" LMB from under a dock, two smaller ones retrieving over the weed tops in 5 to 10 foot water. All bass were released.
Trolled in deeper water the next 3 hours. Caught one 15" Kokanee on a #2 Needlefish in Rainbow color with 8 colors of leaded line in the water at the mouth of Shore Acres Bay. Fish was dark, in pre-spawn coloring with extended jaw. Later, caught one 9" Koke on a #1 Needlefish red/white/nickel with a white trailer on five colors on the south end of the lake. Nice size already for a next-year fish.
Saw lots of marks on the graph at the mouth of Shore Acres bay, looks like the Kokes are getting into groups to stage for spawning. Fish were scattered from 35 to 50 feet deep. Surface temp was 65F.
Overall, did better than my usual fall trip to Loon, and saw lots more fish on the graph, maybe because I was about two to three weeks earlier than usual.
