My buddy, Rick, and I took our last trip put bass fishing for the year and till he comes back from Afgan. (he welds Striker Trucks) And so we first started out the evening trolling for trout while we got our bass gear set up. Caught a couple trout decent size. I started out Bottom fishing with a Brown Stick worm on a J hook while he top water fished with a Minow (just to see which was workin better) He caught two 2 pounders and I had notta. So after the sun was starting to go down I decided to mnake some noise and threw a Black jitterbug with yellow eyes and I was casting up against some cattails and on my second cast back I was just cranking back when BAM Had a HUGE and i mean HUGE topwater hit and I fought this fish for bout ten minutes really playing with her and she was givin a fight! I reeled her in and 7 1/2 lbs and 21 inches long. Are bass Usually this long?? By the way I just started Bass fishing last year. I started fishing fromt he shore when I was 5 and then stopped for awhile then My neighbor rick got me real into it with bass fishing and salmon fishing and what not he even gave me his 12 ft boat and all the gear I need. Thanks Bear.

that's a pretty lengthy bass. did you guess weigh it on a digital scale? doesn't look anything like 7 1/2 lbs.. but none the less that's a very nice largie. good job.

As elijah said, nice fish on desire. The weight estimate is a little heavy.

For bass, weight versus length can vary. Girth plays an important factor. I caught an 8-7 that was 23 inches long. Yet I caught an 8-12 that was only 21 inches. Depending on how well a bass feeds and the nutritional value of what's being ate, some bass can pack on the pounds faster than they grow in length. Not much difference than us humans. I know personally you certainly wouldn't guess my weight by my height. You'd look at my waistline....Not exactly 6 pack abs

yeah well i've also caught a 20" bass that was only 3.5. that fish doesn't look to have much of a bulge for the belly and actually looks much longer than fatter. again great fish but i don't believe for a second it's a 7.5
