got to the lake at hill park at 1:30pm, and started off using power bait on the bottom with no luck. after about an hour of this i changed over to an f5 perch rapala targeting bass, got 1 dink 8" lmb, casting under the left dock. i quickly got bored of this and moved to the right dock. no luck so i went back to powerbait(still on the right dock), this time i used a much longer leader, while waiting for a bite i noticed all the garbage laying all over the place; fishing lines, hooks, sinkers, beads, food containers, plastic bags etc..so i started cleaning up, i did this for about 10 minutes when i realized i had a bite! fish on and a self release at the dock, about 12". while preparing my hook i noticed many fish touching the surfce, barely touching the surface, so i changed my method yet again; clear bobber 6ft lead size 8 hook and chartreuse power bait. this worked with moderate success. i ended up catching 3 trout; 2 of which were cutthroat all 10"-12" nothing special, but fun. as i was preparing to leave i decided to do a police call, i spent 45 minutes cleaning up the docks, and beach. it was filthy, really a sad thing to see...it paid off though, i found 10 hooks, 5 splitshot sinkers, 6 beads, a swivel snap, and an egg sinker. i also found that someone tied 30-50lb test mono to the dock with a huge hook, and some sort of fish meat. this is illegal, as it is illegal to leave a line unattended. if i catch anyone littering here, or leaving lines like that again I WILL CALL THE RANGERS WITHOUT PREJEDUCE. unfortunately i was alone, and therefore have no clue who did it. i'm sick and tired of seeing the litter everywhere, and blatant disrespect for the lakes and rivers. ive spent at least 30 hours in the last 2 month cleaning litter in the snoho, as well as other lakes, and it seams like a never ending quest, its really sad.
