I went to American today to see how the kokanee were doing. I haven't been there in awhile. I got on the water around 8:00 and started trolling on the south side of silcox. Nothing happened until I was on the northwest side of the island.
I was using a pink and clear hootchie with a green 4/0 dodger tipped with powerbait. The first bite came around 9:00 and finished at 11:00. I got the limit of all bucks. Pretty nice size to them but definately spawning colors. The flesh was still nice and firm. All fish were caught on the north side at 30' depth.
The fog was as bad as I've seen it there. I couldn't see 50' around me for awhile. Thank god for the gps on the boat. For awhile I wasn't sure where I was and followed the track back to the launch.
Pretty cold but had alot of fun.
