Got the chance to get one more day on Lake Chelan for smallmouth.
It was a tough one this time out. The conditions were surprisingly good. Over cast, not to cold and water temps are holding @ 54 degrees. However, a small front had come through prior and the start of the full moon phase surely had some impact. I tried all my old spots but could only generate (3) SM. Caught each one at a different location. No area was loaded as the week before. Yet, we have are still getting some really nice rainbows, avg. 2#'s plus. Other locals have gone up for SM and got into the trout and chose to switch over for trout and had a great day..I don't know if I will get out again this year but it has been a great fall for Chelan smallies. The baits I have been having best luck with are the MAD BASS 3" and 4" tubes and a new bait of thiers, a 4" reaper style fished carolina rigged. All colors were a green base..
Will post one more comment when I get my pics from past outings...
